From december 1981 till May 1992 the name was "The Seminar for History of Mathematical and Mechanical Sciences". After the eighteen months break the seminar continued to work under present name but changing the concept and content. The basic goals are: analysis of central ideas of mathematics and mechanics and study of serbian mathematics and mechanics. In accordance with this the main topics are those from national history of mathematics and mechanics. This will go on until a satisfactory book on national history of science appears. The attention is paid to anniversaries of worldwide known scientists but only to the greatest ones. The care is taken to have lecturers who are experts in their field. The first chairman was dr Dragan Trifunovic. From 1993 the chairman is dr Rade Dacic. | |
