Chairman:

dr Vladimir Dragovic

The everlasting connection between mathematics, mechanics and physics was in the last third of the 20th century a spiritus movens of many fundamental mathematical ideas. Inspired by that the Seminar on Mathematical Methods of Mechanics was initiated in spring 1993 with the idea to participate in this stream of ideas.

There are two main tasks. First is to contribute to postgraduate studies in this field in cooperation with the chairs of geometry and mechanics of the Faculty of Mathematics and second to report on original results in the field.

Most frequently the subject is integrability and nonintegrability of dynamical systems, simplectic geometry, Lie groups and algebras, qualitative analysis of differential equations, algebraic curves...

The seminar was initiated by Vladimir Dragovic with the support of Veljko Vujicic, Head of the Mechanics Colloquium.
