Apostolović, Uzun-Mirko (Smrdljikovac around 1782 - Belgrade 1868)
His father and grandfather were killed fighting in Austrian army. His mother fled to Srem and later returned to Serbia, to Mislođin in district of Belgrade. Mirko was learning for tailor, and joined Stanoje Glavaš before insurrection . He distinguished himself in battle of Karanovac (Kraljevo - 1805), where he was wounded. During the attack on Belgrade (1806) he rushed into town with Konda Bimbaša and other three associates, and opened the Sava gate to the insurrectors. After the collapse of insurrection he had escaped from the country, but before long he returned and took part in the Second Serbian Insurrection (battles of Lipar, Čačak, and Dublje). Miloš Obrenović assigned him as customs officer at Višnjica and decorated him by order of Takovski krst (the Cross of Takovo) in 1865. He was also decorated with Montenegrin golden medal of Obilić. He has got a nick-name Uzun (tur. - tall) due to his stature.
