ANALYSIS OF EFFECT IN IMPLEMENTING THE CREDIT INFORMATION EXCHANGE SYSTEM - CASE STUDY - SERBIA

Abstract: This paper analysis the effects of setting up of the institute of credit bureau in Serbia from microeconomic aspects. In addition to effects analysed in theoretical works of the authors engaged in research of that problem, paper also deals with effects which have not been mentioned in professional literature so far. The results which were achieved, empiricaly evidence the statement that introduction of credit bureau at the level of a national economy has a positive impact on certain macroeconomic aspects of relevant economy, regardless of its economic and socio-political status. Existance of negative correlation between functional characteristics of credit bureau and trends in citizen's indebtedness, interest receivable, rate of unsettled financial obligations under credits and time period necessary for processing of credit applications has been established. Beside the above mentioned, the existence of positive correlation between the setting up of credit bureau and credit activities at the level of a national economy has been also confirmed.
