The centripetal KOHSEI (Basic Art & Design)

2 Division and proportion

1 -- Various divisions

Unexpectedly, the centripetal type of activities occupy a large portion of the whole art and design activities. This "division" plays a major role within these activities.

In two-dimensional art and design, the space where shapes are expressed is limited. We are working in a limited shape and area using drawing paper, Kent paper, canvas, etc. Therefore, research on the division of space and area readjustment is very important, and can be defined as one of the fundamentals of art and design.

For example, when printed matter is created, we think how characters, photographs, and figures will be arranged skillfully in a fixed space. In this case, KOHSEI (Basic Art & Design) with an eye to division and proportion becomes the foundation of art and design.
