7 Deformation and metamorphosis

 

1 -- Coordinate change
 

We use a coordinate to determine a position in the infinitely extending space. Though there are various kinds of coordinates, the Descartes coordinate (a rectangular coordinate) is usually used. It is certainly made well, and is convenient. But, when we get too accustomed to it, other coordinates will be forgotten.

So, after an optional coordinate, except for the rectangular coordinate, is created, let's try to observe how a configuration confirming to a standard coordinate space (rectangular coordinates or polar coordinates) will be deformed.

First, a certain shape is drawn precisely in a standard coordinate space. Important parts of shapes should be marked on the coordinates to confirm what kind of positions are occupied in the coordinate lattice.
