CURRENT INFORMATION

A) According to the decision of the General Assembly of Yugoslav Society of Mechanics, due to 75th anniversary of the birthday and memory of late Professor Rastko Stojanović, from September 22, 2002 until September 24, 2002 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering there will be held an international symposium: GEOMETRY, CONTINUA AND MICROSTRUCTURE GCM'6.  Previous meetings of this series GCM'1 - GCM'5 were held in Paris, Madrid, Manheim, Torino and Sinaia (Romania). All the participants are invited. A special issue of TAM (Theoretical and Applied Mechanics) will contain papers from this meeting. 

B) Despite economic difficulties from next year (2003) the official journal of the Society is going to be quarterly journal. The main difficulties in publishing the journal have become past. For revitalizing the journal in its next issues full text papers are going to be freely distributed by Internet in PDF-format.  

C) Next 24th Yugoslav Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics will be held in the first week of June 2003. The place will be determined by the Presidential bureau.
