MS-DOS VERSION OF THE SYSTEM GRAPH System GRAPH has been developed in the period 1980-1984 by D.Cvetkovic and collaborators. This document provides basic information on a PC-version of GRAPH compiled until the end of October 1995. The operating system is DOS and GRAPH can be still used on most of nowadays computers. This version includes only the ALGOR part of the system GRAPH and not parts BIBLI and THEOR. The package looks old fashioned but still is useful. We have put it on our site mainly to document wherefrom newGRAPH stems. 1. All information on package GRAPH are in files MANUAL.TXT and some APPEND*.TXT files. Unfortunately, the manual applies for VAX version, so if something is not as in manual we cannot help now. One possibility is to ask for help S.K. Simic email: sksimic@mi.sanu.ac.rs 2. Before running GRAPH, copy all files to a separate directory, say C:\GRAPH. No other instalation is necessary. 3. To run GRAPH open GRAPH.EXE 4. On command "SHOW VARIABLES ." you will encounter some variables (say graphs) from the previous session. If you prefer your own memory, then type in DOS command MEMGEN to create an empty memory. It is saved on disk under the name GRAPH.MEM. To save it for you, rename it by DOS commands. IMPORTANT REMARK: Commands of GRAPH are given here within quotation marks. Type only text between quotation marks. Pay attention to the fact that all commands terminate with a blank before the full-stop. Commands may be typed using the lower case characters. 5. To proceed, you have to look in the manual or to use the command "INFORM ." which is user friendly. You can also use HELP as a separate word within any command. A repeated HELP gives more detailed hints. Use NOHELP (twice if you have typed HELP twice) to get out of the HELP mode. You can also use graphdem.exe, a demo version of GRAPH (use key for moving and for leaving the program). Everything else (if yet implemented) is as in manual, except graphics. 6. For drawing graphs (graphics), use command "DRAW ." If you want to modify some graph using graphics, then use command "MODIFY ." This command is mouse driven and not yet perfectly elaborated. The menu appears at right part of the screen. For selection use left mouse button, while for go (action) use right button.
