OPSTI MATEMATICKI SEMINAR

Some approximations of solutions of stochastic integrodifferential equations
Abstract. The talk is devoted to the construction of an approximate solution of
the stochastic integrodifferential equation of the Ito type, linear with
respect to double integrals of the Lebesgue and Ito type.
The closeness of the original and approximate solutions is measured in
the sense of the Lp-norm and with probability one. Also, integrodifferential
equation of the Ito type depending on a small parameter is analyzed,
by comparing it in the (2m)th-moment sense with the solution
of the appropriate unperturbed equation on finite intervals or on
intervals whose length tends to infinity as the small parameter tends to
zero. Two different methods for the estimation of the closeness of these
solutions are presented.

WHAT IS TURING'S HALTING PROBLEM? (zip-file)
Abstract. Turing's Halting Problem is the problem to decide whether an
arbitrary Turing machine halts on an arbitrary input. It is
arguably the most (in)famous unsolvable (by any Turing machine)
mathematical problem. In this talk we will discuss recent work on
Turing's Halting Problem done in algorithmic information theory
and quantum computing.

Analiza pseudodiferencijalnih operatora na ultramodulacionim prostorima
Abstract. The boundedness of pseudodifferential operators on modulation
spaces defined by the means of almost exponential weights is
studied. The results are applied to symbol class with almost
exponential bounds including polynomial and ultra-polynomial
symbols. The Weyl correspondence is used and it is noted that the
results can be transferred to the operators with appropriate
anti-Wick symbols. It is proved that a class of elliptic
pseudodifferential operators can be almost diagonalized by
the elements of Wilson bases, and estimates for their eigenvalues
are given. Furthermore, it is shown that the same can be done by
using Gabor frames. This work is done in collaboration with S. Pilipovic.

Controlled Branching Processes and
Statistical Inference for Branching Processes.
Abstract.
A review of the general theory will be presented. Some interesting
particular cases will be also considered especially when the regularly
varying functions play an important role in the limit behaviour. Some
non-published results will be presented also.
Non parametric estimation for the most important characteristic of some
classes of branching processes is proposed. New limit theorems are
obtained
especially in the case when the processes start with a large number of
ancestors. Computer simulations and estimations can be demonstrated.
