(2) Use of considering designs and conditions

If the number 12 represents months, the extension into the horizontal axis corresponds to 24 months, that is, 2 years. The internal patters with similar symbols inside of these two axes are repeated vertically in the seven blocks as a unit. In other words, this is a painting whose structure was well considered by replacing the elements of week, month, and year with visualized symbols to leverage the modeling idea. Therefore, the title of this work, "Calendar", represents the above concept not representing a calendar of design.

(ii) Railway timetable

Based on a similar concept, the art of Figure 583 does not represent a railway timetable but represents art utilizing conditions for making the timetable for the Shinkansen in order to create a pattern. This is a copy of a part of all the outbound trains leaving from Tokyo station (from 6 am for the 1st train until 4 pm). The names of the stations stand in a line on the y-axis, and the x-axis represents time.

The schedules for "Hikari" and "Kodama" are distinguished using different kinds of lines, and these trains rhythmically start from the beginning stations making delicately different density. The surrounding characters are also considered to be modeling elements.
