After hints were obtained from such visual experiences, various works were done to draw gradually changing shapes on a piece of Kent paper.

Try to explain the pictures from Figures 499 through 525 with the aid of six categories and simple illustration explanations of the pictures with the pleasure of solving a puzzle. Understanding of the picture of Vasarely and Escher will become deeper after getting acquainted with them and becoming interested in this thinking process.

           (i) Gradual change of shapes in a direction.
(ii) Gradual change of shapes extending like ripples.
(iii) Gradual change of shapes in two directions (using a regular lattice structure).
(iv) Gradual change using a lattice which has gradually changing spacing.
          (v) Gradual change of shapes by a lattice which has turning points.
(vi) Gradual configuration change without using a lattice.
