Welcome to Belgrade

After 35 years of rich scientific history, the Joint European Thermodynamics Conference (JETC) will be held for the first time on the Balkan Peninsula, at the historical crossroads of Eastern and Western Europe. We welcome you to the JETC 2025, which takes place in Belgrade, Serbia, from the 26 th of May to the 30 th of May, 2025!

Aims and Scope

The JETC 2025 is devoted to the methods and concepts of equilibrium and non-equilibrium thermodynamics that appear in various areas of physics, engineering, humanities and other sciences. The aim of this conference is to improve the interaction between and pull together the various theoretical branches and areas of application in order to develop a more powerful and more applicable discipline. Following a well established conference tradition, several symposiums will be organized where the leading experts can publicly discuss emergent topics from thermodynamics. The interaction between participants will further be enhanced in topical, special and poster sessions. We are looking forward to your contributions.

History

The JETC conferences were established in 1989 under the name Journées Européennes de Thermodynamique Contemporaine by ECAST, the European Center for Advanced Studies in Thermodynamics. As it was desirable to enlarge the scope of the conferences and to unite thermodynamics across Europe, the conferences changed their name in 2007 to the Joint European Thermodynamics Conference, while the acronym remained the same. Since then, they have been held in Europe every two years.
