Pupils from the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija visited MISANU

Pupils from the primary schools “Dositej Obradović” in Orahovac, “Svetozar Marković” in Velika Hoča (in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija), and “The Liberators of Belgrade” in Belgrade visited the institute. They learned about the institute, the history of mathematics and computer science in Serbia, our famous scientists, a researcher's everyday routine, and the cultural heritage digitisation project.

Artificial Intelligence Conference

October 8-9, 2026

This is the fourth edition of the Artificial Intelligence conference organized by the Department of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and the Mathematical Institute of SANU. In addition to highlighting the research character, important features of this conference include: focusing exclusively on the field of AI, stimulating discussions on the fundamental aspects of AI, paying special attention to new topics in AI, connecting techniques and results from various subfields of AI, gathering a large number of researchers in the field of AI from Serbia, the region, and from other countries, both those with experience and young researchers. 80 Years of the Mathematical Institute

May 15, 2026

The first meeting of the Institute's Committee took place on May 15, 1946, marking the beginning of the Institute’s work as an official unit of the Serbian Academy of Sciences. In recognition of this milestone, our Board later proclaimed May 15 as Mathematical Institute Day. To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Institute, the Scientific Committee will hold a ceremonial session on May 15, 2026.
