Plan rada Seminara za logiku za oktobar 2010.

Seminar za matematicku logiku Matematickog instituta SANU nastavlja rad u zimskom semestru 2009/2010.g. na novoj adresi: Kneza Mihaila 36/III sprat, soba 301f - sala za seminare. Cetvrtkom posle podne, ali od 15:00 sati, odrzavace se predavanja na Seminaru iz verovatnosnih logika pod rukovodstvom Profesora Miodraga Raskovica koji je u decembru 2007. dobio akreditaciju Naucnog veca Instituta. Na taj nacin, ponovo, kao pre vise decenija, postoje dva logicka seminara.

Weighted automata and quantitative logics

Abstrakt: In automata theory, a classical result of B\"uchi states that the recognizable languages are precisely the ones definable by sentences of monadic second order logic. We will present a generalization of this result to the context of weighted automata. A weighted automaton is a classical nondeterministic automaton in which each transition carries a weight describing e.g. the resources used for its execution, the length of time needed, or its reliability. The behavior (language) of such a weighted automaton is a function associating to each word the weight of its execution. We develop syntax and semantics of a quantitative logic; the semantics counts 'how often' a formula is true. Our main results show that if the weights are taken either in an arbitrary semiring or in an arbitrary bounded lattice, then the behaviors of weighted automata are precisely the functions definable by sentences of our quantitative logic. The methods also apply to recent quantitative automata model of Henzinger et al. where weights of paths are determined, e.g., as the average of the weights of the path's transitions. B\"uchi's result follows by considering the classical Boolean algebra {0,1}. Joint work with Paul Gastin (ENS Cachan), Heiko Vogler (TU Dresden), resp. Ingmar Meinecke (Leipzig).

Abstrakt: Usporedit cemo karakterizacije relacije posljedice u radovima: • Tarski, A. "Fundamentale Begriffe..." 1930 ; • Scott, D. "Rules and derived rules" 1974 ; • Shoesmith, D. & Smiley T. "Multiple-conclusion logic" 1978 ; • Skiic, Z. "A proof of the characterization theorem for consequence relations " 1991. Zatim cemo razmotriti neka metodicka pitanja vezana uz sustave izvodjenja relacije logicke posljedice.

Laplace, De Finetti, Cox - sto je vjerojatnost (i treba li nam statistika)

Abstrakt: Kontrastirat cemo De Finetti-Ramseyjevu, Jeffreysovu i Coxovu definiciju pojma vjerojatnosti (u sva tri slucaja radi se o Laplaceovim, ne nuzno frekvencijskim, plauzibilnostima).Usporedit cemo i njihove dokaze vjerojatnosnih aksioma. Zatim cemo ilustrirati (na jednostavnom primjeru) zasto plauzibilnosti ne trebaju statistiku.

OBAVESTENJE:

Profesor Kosta Dosen drzi u letnjem semestru 2009/2010. skolske godine kurs iz izbornog predmeta FILOZOFIJA MATEMATIKE na cetvrtoj godini studija filozofije na Odeljenju za filozofiju Filozofskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu, Cika Ljubina 18-20, u sali 308, III sprat(nove zgrade Filozofskog fakulteta) sredom od 18:30, pocevsi od srede 10. februara 2010.g. Uz kurs su predvidjene vezbe petkom od 18:00 sati u sali Srpskog filozofskog drustva (prvi sprat starih prostorija Filozofskog fakulteta), koje drzi Milos Adzic. Kurs je posvecen filozofiji matematike Gotloba Fregea, a vezbe poglavljima iz logike relevantnim za filozofiju matematike.
