Milan Čavčić was born in Stepen near Gacko on 7. Jully 1917.
From 15. November 1945. he worked in the Serbian Academy of Sciences. From 1945 till 1948 he was the chief of the the president administrative bireau taking care also about printing of academian publications. From 1949 till 1950 he was the cief of the academian planning section at the time of establishing of institutes of academia.
From 1961. he was independent referent of Mathematical institute and technical editor of its publications until his retirement in 1984. He died on 28. May 1994.
