AN ELEMENTARY INTRODUCTION TO MATHEMATICS OF QUANTUM MECHANICS
In the first lecture I will introduce and discuss the postulates of quantum mechanics in the simple setting of finite dimensional Hilbert spaces. The discussion is based on the spectral theorem for self-adjoint matrices and no other mathematical background is needed for this lecture.
In the second lecture and in the same elementary setting, I will introduce the notion of generalized quantum measurements and a research program that concerns study of statistics of the outcomes of such measurements. Besides some basic knowledge of measure theory, no other background is needed for the second lecture. The lecture are aimed at the undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers interested to learn about some recent developments in mathematical physics.

Predavanja su namenjena širokom krugu slušalaca, uključujući studente redovnih i doktorskih studija. Održavaju se sredom sa početkom u 18 sati u sali 301f na trećem spratu zgrade Matematičkog instituta SANU, Knez Mihailova 36.
