FREE AXIAL AND BENDING VIBRATIONS OF AXIALLY FUNCTIONALLY GRADED EULER-BERNOULLI BEAMS
Novel production methods developed new materials for engineering praxis. Some of these materials are functionally graded materials (FGM). Due to the presence of the FGM in a beam design, we may differ between the two types of beams. The first type considers beams that material characteristics vary in the direction orthogonal to the beam axis. The second group covers those beams that have changes in material characteristics along longitudinal axes (AFG beams). The free vibration problem of the AFG beams shall be discussed. The next cases of free vibrations shall be discussed: axial vibration, transverse vibration and coupled axial-bending vibrations of AFG Euler-Bernoulli beams. Governing equations will be presented in the form suitable for the implementation of the Symbolic-numeric method of differential parameters (SNMIP). Several types of boundary conditions will be discussed and their impact to the coupling of mode shapes shall be analyzed. Also, a case of a beam with general boundary conditions with rigid bodies attached at its free ends will be presented. The impact of boundary conditions as well as mass and mechanical characteristics of a beam to the natural frequencies of beams will be discussed.
Seminar Mehanika mašina i mehanizama - modeli i matematičke metode započeo je sa radom u junu 2018.god. Seminar se održava do dva puta mesečno, utorkom u periodu od 17.00 - 19.00 u Matematičkom institutu SANU.
