MODELLING COMPLEX MECHANICAL PROBLEMS IN FEA - BOTTOM-UP VS TOP-DOWN APPROACH
The lecture will cover the basic principles of top-down and bottom-up modeling in FEA (Finite Element Analysis), emphasizing their main differences, core assumptions, advantages, and disadvantages. Focusing on modeling complex mechanical problems for scientific and advanced engineering applications, the lecture will explore challenges and benefits of both bottom-up and combined modeling approaches. An original approach for developing highly accurate and time-efficient FEA models based on controlled, precisely tailored models will be discussed, ensuring that models are designed to achieve accuracy, fidelity, and efficiency while being adapted to planned simulations from the very beginning. As examples, various case studies using ANSYS APDL software will be presented and analyzed.

Seminar Mehanika mašina i mehanizama - modeli i matematičke metode započeo je sa radom u junu 2018.god. Seminar se održava do dva puta mesečno, utorkom u periodu od 17.00 - 19.00 u Matematičkom institutu SANU.
