THE USAGE OF AUGMENTED REALITY FOR SITUATED VISUALISATION AND DECISION-MAKING
Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that extends the real world with virtual data in real-time in order to provide more information to the user. The rapid development of this immersive technology in sense of hardware and software enables its increasing usage in different fields. The novel concept of usage of this technology is situated visualisation (SV) where virtual data is directly related to the context of physical objects in their environment. Therefore, SV is using AR to visualise data about real objects observable by the user in his surroundings. This can help in the decision-making process by presenting the data in the context of the real world which can support decision-makers in their decision. This presentation discusses the usage and combination of these technologies based on the review paper: N. C. Martins, B. Marques, J. Alves, T. Araújo, P. Dias, B. S. Santos, Augmented reality situated visualization in decision-making. Multimedia Tools and Applications, 81(11) (2022), 14749-14772.

OVERHANG DESIGN METHODS - OPTIMAL THERMAL AND DAYLIGHTING PERFORMANCE
Modern facades, in particular those of office buildings, are highly glazed both to provide daylight and exterior views, which influence occupants’ wellbeing, and to improve architectural appearance of buildings. Solar radiation through such façades easily causes glare and overheating, so that shading is of vital concern for them. Shading devices aim to prevent excessive heat gains from solar radiation in hot periods, without compromising beneficial heat gains in cold periods or visual comfort in adjacent indoor spaces. Balancing these often-contradictory goals is an interesting multi-objective optimization problem that represents a very active research topic in the field of building energy and daylighting. Overhangs are the simplest and most traditional shading devices, that have several beneficial traits: easy installation, high cost-effectiveness, low maintenance, and unobstructed view outside. The speaker has written a short monograph with an overview of historical development of the methods for designing overhangs, that was recently accepted for publication in the book series SpringerBriefs in Architectural Design and Technology, and the lecture will briefly present this monograph.

EVOLUTION OF RFID AUTHENTICATION PROTOCOLS FROM HB FAMILY: TECHNIQUES AND RECENT ADVANCES
RFID systems are used for identification and authentication of objects by employing radio-waves, with a wide variety of applications, while the authentication procedure is conducted via predefined communication protocols between tagged objects and verifiers. We investigate their distinguished subgroup - HB family of authentication protocols - which uses the hardness of LPN problem as the core of its security. The evolution of this family comprises continuous upgrades of its members, followed by attacks on these upgrades, with the goal to reach the highest level of security and efficiency of the design solutions. We shall provide an overview of this evolution, with emphasis on protocol design techniques, threat models and cryptographic attacks, and also present our recent research results in the area.

BACK TO THE MILKY WAY
Light pollution is a relatively new term in the scientific community, and it has only begun to attract the general scientific public since the beginning of this century. Although it is a new concept, it is becoming a growing problem of environmental pollution. This lecture will be dedicated to explaining the concept of the problem of light pollution, its definition as well as various forms of such environmental pollutants. Significant attention will be paid to the main consequences of light pollution in astronomy, on the living beings and humans, as well as to economic and energy losses. In addition to this, we will discuss how to start the fight against light pollution, how an individual can participate in this fight, and how to provide himself with a quality life with adequate lighting. As part of the NGO "Carpe Noctem", we will talk about the organization and the people who were the first in Serbia to start a tale about the problem of light pollution.
