OMICS DATA FUSION FOR UNDERSTANDING MOLECULAR COMPLEXITY ENABLING PRECISION MEDICINE
We are flooded by increasing volumes of heterogeneous, interconnected, systems-level, molecular (multi-omic) data. They provide complementary information about cells, tissues and diseases. We need to utilize them to better stratify patients into risk groups, discover new biomarkers, and repurpose known and discover new drugs to personalize medical treatment. This is nontrivial, because of computational intractability of many underlying problems, necessitating the development of algorithms for finding approximate solutions (heuristics).
We develop a versatile data fusion (integration) machine learning (ML) framework to address key challenges in precision medicine from these data: better stratification of patients, prediction of biomarkers, and re-purposing of approved drugs to particular patient groups, applied to cancer, Covid-19, rare thrombophilia and Parkinson’s Disease. Our new methods stem from graph-regularized non-negative matrix tri-factorization (NMTF), a machine learning technique for dimensionality reduction, inference and co-clustering of heterogeneous datasets, coupled with novel network science algorithms. We utilize our new framework to develop methodologies for improving the understanding the molecular organization and disease from the omics network embedding space.

GIS AS A DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM IN BIOLOGY
GIS is a powerful tool in the field of biology, enabling researchers and conservationists better to understand the spatial relationships between organisms and their environments and make informed decisions for the protection and sustainable management of ecosystems and biodiversity. It is used for various tasks like habitat mapping, species distribution modeling, ecosystem services assessment, invasive species management, wildlife conservation, etc. This lecture will present some examples of how GIS can be employed to support decision-making in biology research and practice.

DEVELOPMENT OF A MULTI-CRITERIA MODEL FOR DETERMINING THE PRIORITY OF ENERGY EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT USING INTERVAL INFLUENCE DIAGRAMS
Modern electric power systems face serious challenges, such as the integration of renewable energy sources and active demand, while uncertainty and incomplete information have become an indispensable part of the planning, operation and control of electric power system. Considering that a complex power system consists of many interdependent subsystems, analyzing the state of the system, maintaining reliability at the desired level, and mitigating losses becomes more difficult than ever. In order to increase the reliability of the power system, the purpose of this research is the development of a new risk prediction model based on influence diagrams with interval probabilities. For the successful development of the model, a methodological concept was proposed that represents a combination of influence diagrams and interval probabilities, which significantly improves the decision-making process in conditions of uncertainty. The obtained research results clearly indicate the advantages of the new model compared to similar models based on precise probabilities. The significance of the research and practical contribution are reflected through the possibility of predicting the optimal time for replacing energy equipment, monitoring all cause-and-effect relationships between the elements of the observed system, as well as how a change in the state of one of the elements affects the final decision on the activities to be undertaken. It is shown that the concept based on interval probabilities successfully overcomes the limitations regarding the lack of information and the imbalance of expert knowledge and can be an excellent tool for decision-making under conditions of uncertainty.

NOVEL SURFACE FUZZY ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS
This paper aims to upgrade the concept of Spherical Fuzzy Sets considering the hesitancy, its third coordinate, as a function instead of constant. This broads the decision-makers "spectrum" allowing them to describe the fuzzy part of data more comprehensively. As a path distance between two fuzzy sets, we used geodesic lines in place of great circles, connecting Fuzzy logic with Differential geometry. Also, we proved some algebraic properties for the defined Surface Fuzzy Sets.
