TRAINING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS: THE IMPACT OF HYPERPARAMETERS ON MODEL PERFORMANCE
This lecture will present the process of optimizing hyperparameters within a feedforward multilayer artificial neural network with the aim of improving model performance. The analysis was conducted by examining 14 different configurations. In this process, the key hyperparameters that were subject to changes are the data normalization method, the dataset partitioning strategy, the number of neurons in the hidden layer, the number of hidden layers, the type of activation function and the learning rate. The model's efficiency was evaluated using standard machine learning measures, including the mean square error (MSE), the root mean square error (RMSE), the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and the coefficient of determination (R²). In order to compare the performance of the configurations, the BORDA method was applied, which aggregates ranks based on each of the above metrics. These results provide insight into the impact of hyperparameters on the accuracy and stability of predictive models, contributing to the further improvement of machine learning techniques.

MASS MOMENT VECTORS AND ROTATOR VECTORS AND KINETIC PRESSURES ON BEARINGS IN ROTOR DYNAMICS
The lecturer presents mass moment vectors and rotator vectors, which he introduced and defined in 1990, and first presented at the World Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM ICTAM Haifa 1992) in Haifa in 1992. The lecturer formulated definitions and corresponding theorems on mass moment vectors, which are related vectors with corresponding axes and poles, and showed their application in rotor dynamics in determining kinetic pressures on rotor and gyrorotor bearings. In particular, he introduced a pure kinematic vector rotators, related vectors with corresponding axes and poles and which depend on the angular velocities and rotational accelerations of single- and multi-stage rotors, and showed their role in rotor balancing. The basic contents of mass moment vectors and vector rotators related vectors with corresponding axes and poles are presented in two monographic publications: as well as in a large number of references, including: Also, and some content that discusses the applications of mass moment vectors in more complex, multi-stage rotors, which the lecturer presented and published in conference plenary and semi-plenary lectures or scientific seminars in Greece, Ukraine, China, Japan, America, etc.
