MODERN MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS IN ELECTRICAL POWER ENGINEERING
This work illustrates how traditional power engineering knowledge, when integrated with advanced mathematical frameworks, creates opportunities for more resilient, efficient, and intelligent electrical systems. The first part of the presentation focuses on the application of neural networks for speed estimation of induction machines. This research demonstrates that computational intelligence can effectively replace traditional sensing techniques while maintaining accuracy. Additionally, based on the mathematical modeling of electrical machines, the implementation of H-infinity control techniques for microgrid inverters will be discussed. This highlights how robust mathematical principles can help ensure stability in increasingly complex distributed energy systems, even when faced with uncertain operating conditions. In the second part are presented novel research topics, which are still in progress, and they are more oriented to:
