GIS AND AR AS DECISION-SUPPORT TOOLS FOR URBAN GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING
The lecture presents the role of geographic information systems (GIS) as spatial decision-support tools in urban planning. Several researches will be presented that have focused on two topics: 1) how GIS enables data-driven analysis, visualisation, and scenario modelling to inform urban planning strategies and policy formation. 2) Potential hybrid of Augmented Reality and GIS for the improvement of stakeholder participation by providing a more accessible and interactive urban planning outcome, hence raising population environmental awareness. These examples thus indicate potential to implement GIS's clear capabilities as a decision support in planning practice, as well as the innovation that AR-GIS may bring to an inclusive, transparent, and sustainable urban future.

DATA-DRIVEN AND USER-SPECIFIC OPTIMIZATION OF EV CHARGING USING XGBOOST AND TOPSIS
A decision-making framework which was developed for electric vehicle charging optimization through predictive machine learning along with individual user multi-criteria analysis will be presented in this lecture. The framework employs an XGBoost model trained on synthetic and real-world data to predict the best charger choices for different station-time combinations and reduce charging times. Three user profiles — time-sensitive, price-sensitive, and speed-sensitive — are incorporated into a TOPSIS-based optimization, which utilizes predictions and includes charging price and speed. The results show that varying user types have significantly different preference for choices. The value of a custom and adaptable approach will be discussed, as well as the limitations of static optimization. The model achieves high prediction accuracy and provides intelligent, user-centric recommendations regarding electric vehicle charging options.

FROM RATIONAL DECISIONS TO PLAYFUL CHOICES: GAME THEORY VS GAME DESIGN
Game theory looks at decision making through the lens of logic and rational calculation. Game design, by contrast, works with real human players whose choices are often guided by emotions, habits, and biases as much as by reason. This talk explores the gap between the two: how mathematical models of “optimal” decisions differ from the ways people actually play, and why taking psychology into account is key to creating engaging and meaningful games.
