WHAT IS THE MEAN DIMENSION FOR?
An old line of research in general topology seeks to embed topological spaces into subsets of the Euclidean spaces. Similarly, we can ask if dynamical systems can be embedded into the shifts over cubes of arbitrary dimensions. The mean dimension appears as an obstruction to these dynamical embeddings. In this talk, we will see this, and other applications of the mean dimension to dynamical systems defined on the infinite-dimensional spaces.
