On August 16, 2012, the Board of the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts decided to establish the MISANU Award for exceptional contribution to the development of the Institute and mathematics in the Republic of Serbia. This recognition has so far been awarded to:

On 14th September 2012, the MISANU Award was given to Teodor Von Burg, in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in the International Mathematical Olympic Games.
- On October 31, 2014 to Dr Bogoljub Stanković for his outstanding contribution to the development of mathematics in Serbia.
- On April 26, 2016 to Academician Professor Dr Mileva Prvanović and to Professor Dr Veljko Vujičić in recognition of their immeasurable contribution to the development of the Mathematical Institute and mathematics in the Republic of Serbia.
- On August 30, 2019, to Srdjan Ognjanović, MA, for his exceptional contribution to the development of the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade and mathematics in the Republic of Serbia.
- On September 10, 2021, to Academician Teodor Atanacković, Academician Vladan Đorđević, Academician Dragos Cvetković, Professor Dr Žarko Mijajlović and Scientific Adviser Dr Zoran Marković in recognition of their great contribution to the development of the Mathematical Institute SANU and mathematics in Serbia.
MISANU Student Award
Every year, the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts recognises significant achievements of undergraduate, master's and doctoral students (BSc, MSc, and PhD) in the field of mathematics, mechanics and computer science and awards the authors of the best graduation theses of the Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade in the field of mathematics and computer science.
