Following the joint decision of the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Centre for the Promotion of Science to launch a national event to promote mathematics, the State University in Novi Pazar decided to become one of the numerous partners in organising the event, which was named, May, the Month of Mathematics.
The above-mentioned partnership intensified the cooperation between the Mathematical Institute SANU and the State University in Novi Pazar, i.e. Department of Mathematical Sciences, which led to the establishment of the Centre for the Advancement and Popularisation of Mathematics at the State University of Novi Pazar.
The State University of Novi Pazar engaged the scientific potentials of the Mathematical Institute SANU in the editorial board of the scientific journal "Scientific Publications of the State University of Novi Pazar, Series A: Applied Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics", published by the State University in Novi Pazar.
We also have to mention that we invited several members of the Mathematical Institute to participate in the conference "Contemporary Problems of Mathematics, Mechanics and Informatics", which is held at the State University in Novi Pazar. Their engagement significantly contributed to the quality of the Conference.
The cooperation between the State University in Novi Pazar and the Mathematical Institute dates back to 1993, when one of numerous monographs was printed and published in Russian by the Mathematical Institute. The title of the monograph is "Geometric methods in electrodynamics" (Геометрические методы в электродинамике) and its authors are Ć. Dolićanin and Ю. П. Соловьёв.
A particularly significant part of this cooperation is the engagement of members of the Mathematical Institute in doctoral studies in mathematics at the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the State University in Novi Pazar. We are going to mention Dr Zoran Marković, Dr Zoran Ognjanović, Dr Teodor Atanacković, Dr Stevan Pilipović, Dr Gradimir Milovanović, Dr Slobodan Simić, and Dr Miodrag Mihaljević.
The cooperation will be deepened by engaging members of the Mathematical Institute in holding lectures, by invitation, at the Centre for the Advancement and Popularisation of Mathematics at the State University in Novi Pazar, and special lectures will be held as part of the May, the Month of Mathematics event.
