The following list contains the names of doctoral degree holders in mathematical sciences connected by a series of mentorships with Mihailo Petrović. The list can be graphically represented by a tree, a special type of ordered structure. The nodes in the tree represent mathematicians, while the connections between the nodes indicate the mentoring relationship between doctoral candidates and their mentors. The name of each node consists of the name of the mathematician, the university and the year of defending their doctorate. The name of the other mentor, if any, is written next to the candidate's name and marked with an asterisk *. Due to the large number of names of some foreign mathematical descendants of Mihailo Petrović, the names of their descendants are not written. In such a case, the number of their mathematical descendants is written after the name of the mathematician. About 450 doctoral dissertations of the authors of this tree, including all those defended until World War II, can be found in the Virtual Library of the Faculty of Mathematics in Belgrade (VL).
