PROJECT TITLE: IT retraining program – MISANU

The Mathematical Institute SANU and the University of California San Diego Extension are providing training in Java programming language and Python programming language as part of this project. The planned training program within the proposed project enables all participants to acquire the necessary knowledge to work in the programming languages Java and Python, which is implemented according to the most modern curriculum of one of the world's most prestigious universities, the University of California San Diego Extension, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). In this sense, course participants receive world-renowned certificates in programming in the mentioned programming languages.

Both Java and Python program certificates include 3 courses. The program is designed so that a potential participant in these intensive courses can obtain a Java or Python certificate within a year and go from the basic Java and Python concepts to the advanced level of Java and Python programming.

Innovative elements of the program are reflected in the fact that all classes take place both in class and online via the Blackboard platform. Classes are held in English and Serbian.

The expected results of this project are that candidates acquire advanced operational knowledge of many aspects of Java and Python programming languages which is confirmed by a certificate obtained from UC San Diego Extension.

The proposed training program can contribute to accelerating the retraining process and increasing the competence of staff in the local community, which will have the effect of not only improving the living standards, but also of contributing to the transformation of the labor market in line with modern trends.
