Biomechanics, Bioengineering and Mathematical Biology Seminar

The aim of the seminar is to present and exchange scientific knowledge and experiences, and to make publicly visible the cutting edge scientific work of researchers on a wide range of topics in the fields of biomechanics, bioengineering and mathematical biology. The work of the Seminar includes scientific discussions, workshops with scientists all over the world, organizations of mini-symposia and cooperation with professional associations.
Scientific topics presented at the seminar are: biomechanical models of living systems, mathematical modelling of physiological processes, dynamical models in biological systems, bioengineering, bioinformatics, proteomics, genomics, biological oscillators, biorhythms, clinical and sports biomechanics, growth and remodelling in biological systems, synchronization in biological systems, biomechanics of different biological systems and biostructures of different degrees of complexity, biophysical aspects of molecular interactions, system interactions within living organisms, but also mathematical modelling of organizations within different biocenoses and different aspects of their functioning, quantum phenomena in biological systems, chaos phenomena in biological systems, mathematical biology, applied mathematics for understanding biological systems and phenomena in biological systems; use of mathematical techniques and tools for simulation of physiological and pathological processes in biological systems.
Announcements of new theoretical concepts, mathematical models and experimental results in the field of biomechanics, bioengineering and mathematical biology will be the main priority of the seminar. Lectures at the seminar would be held up to twice a month.
The lectures are intended for a wide range of listeners, including bachelor, master and doctoral students. They are held on Mondays starting at 16:00 (CET or CEST depending on the time of the year) either online through videoconferencing software or in the room 301f on the third floor of the building of the Mathematical Institute of SANU, Knez Mihailova 36.
