Chairperson: Professor Vera Kovačević Vujčić
The Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Colloquium was founded in 2012 with the aim of supporting a growing interest in computer science and its interconnections with mathematics.

The Colloquium activities include:
  • Regular weekly lectures organised at the meetings of the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Seminar. The topics of the lectures range from research reports in computer science and applied mathematics to computational studies and new software developments. The meetings are organised regularly on Tuesdays at 2 pm;
  • Supporting and organising tutorials and mini conferences;
  • Organising visits of foreign mathematicians and computer scientists;
  • Promoting young researchers through presentations of their doctoral theses;
  • Presentations of books, mathematical software, and video lectures.
In the period 2012-2020, 309 lectures were held at the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Seminar, almost half of which were in the field of computer science. On average, 34 meetings with about eight foreign speakers were organised annually. The Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Colloquium organised presentation of two three-hour tutorials Dataflow Supercomputing and Data Mining from Social and Knowledge Networks, held In January and February 2013 by a group of experts from the University of Belgrade, Imperial College, Stanford University and the Mathematical Institute. In 2014, the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Colloquium organised two two-day courses on software verification, at the end of March and the end of May, as well as a one-day intensive course in parallel programming on the cluster. In addition, it participated in the organisation of a mini course Existential Polytime and Polyhedral Combinatorics held at the Mathematical Institute by Professor Jack Edmonds in the period May 4-7, 2015. In May 2016, the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Colloquium contributed to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Mathematical Institute by organising 16 invited lectures covering different areas of mathematics and computing. It also actively participated in the organisation of an international conference Spectra of Graphs and Applications, which was held in the period May 18-20, 2016 in honour of Professor Dragoš Cvetković for his 75th birthday. In November 2018, the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Colloquium organised a meeting with six invited lectures in pure and applied mathematics in honour of 70th birthday of Professor Gradimir Milovanović. The 40 years of scientific work in computing of Professor Veljko Milutinović was marked in March 2019 with an appropriate ceremony. In the past decade, the guests of the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Colloquium have been many world-known experts in the field of applied mathematics and computer science.

The head of the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Colloquium is Professor Vera Kovačević Vujčić with Dr Tatjana Davidović as the Deputy.
