The new issue (N.S.) 118(132) of the journal Publications de l'Institut Mathématique has been published. It contains 10 original scientific articles. Free access to the full text of the articles is available at the journal's website.

March 19-21, 2026

MISANU will host the meetings of the European Mathematical Society (EMS) Executive Council and the European Research Centres in Mathematics (ERCOM) from March 19 to 21, 2026.
These events will bring together the EMS leadership, representatives of ERCOM institutes, and distinguished guests for consultations, the exchange of best practices, and discussions on shared challenges and opportunities for collaboration across Europe.
International cooperation is a cornerstone of MISANU’s mission, and we are honored to welcome these prestigious meetings to our region for the first time, coinciding with the celebration of our 80th anniversary.

Using computing facilities of the Mathematical Institute of SASA, Prof. Žarko Mijajlović found in November 2025 three large primes related to the Kurepa left factorial hypothesis. The numbers have respectively 352509, 401827 and 415436 decimal digits and are named after prominent Serbian mathematicians Zoran Marković, Miodrag Rašković and Slaviša Prešić.

The Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MISANU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), expressing interest in cooperation on activities related to the digitalization of cultural heritage and, in particular, in the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies for processing human language, where the focus is especially on Serbian and other low-resource languages, with the aim of facilitating the wider adoption of AI-based language technologies across the public sector (administration, judiciary, education, etc.) and contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
