LibrAIfy Project Presented at the Goethe-Institut (Belgrade)
November 27, 2025
Anđelka Zečević and Anastazija Žunić (Mathematical Institute) and Tamara Butigan (National Library of Serbia, NLS) presented the project LibrAIfy, software designed to improve the quality of scanned documents and optically recognized text, at the Goethe-Institut. The software was developed by the Institute for the needs of NLS. The project was financially supported by the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the GovTech, Innovations in the Service of the Public Sector of Serbia, 2024–25 program. The solution is based on the applications of artificial intelligence methods for digital image and natural language processing.
This collection of 16 articles, edited by Boriša Kuzeljević, is a natural continuation of volume 17(25), which appeared in this series in 2015. It is motivated by research topics in set theory and related areas that have been investigated for many decades at the Logic Seminar of the Mathematical Institute SASA, as well as by the editor’s “Lectures of Mika Alas” course, given at the Institute in the spring of 2023.
The Executive Committee of the International Commission on the History of Mathematics (ICHM) has unanimously approved Serbia’s reentry into the ICHM, following a 35-year absence. This return has been made possible through the initiative of the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MISANU), Serbia’s foremost research centre in the historiography of mathematics since its founding in 1946. MISANU’s Seminar for the History and Philosophy of Mathematics, Mechanics, and Astronomy has been active since 1981.
